Attorney Matthew Funk of Pasternack Tilker Ziegler Walsh Stanton & Romano, LLP, will be installed Tuesday, June 13th as President of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA). The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. in New York City.
“I’m honored to serve as President of the leading trial lawyers’ association in the State of New York,” Funk said. “Thousands of attorneys belong to this organization and I will work tirelessly to represent their needs as the 50th President of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.”
Founded in 1953, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association represents more than 3,500 trial lawyers throughout the state of New York. According to the organization, the association’s mission is “to promote a safer and healthier society, to assure access to the civil justice system by those who are wrongfully injured and to advance representation of the public by ethical, well-trained lawyers." Notably, Mr. Funk is the first workers’ compensation attorney to lead the NYSTLA.
A partner at Pasternack Tilker Ziegler Walsh Stanton & Romano, LLP, Mr. Funk primarily handles workers’ compensation cases for the law firm. A 1995 graduate of Albany University and 1998 graduate of Brooklyn Law School, Mr. Funk serves on the Executive Board of the Injured Workers Bar Association.
